Did you know that many snowflakes begin on a spec of dust? This is a wonderful, interesting book about snow. It shows how the crystals are created, the different shapes
they make, and how they join together to create snowflakes. It is the perfect length to begin to understand the structure of
snowflakes. The illustrations are beautiful. The photographs of the snowflakes are excellent
and the diagrams are detailed. The ending of the book shows you the best way to "catch" snowflakes so you can see their designs. It is also one of the Illinois' Bluestem Nominees this year.
